Townsville Region
Bird Observers Club
Welcome to the Townsville Region Bird Observers Club (TRBOC) web site. This site has been created in an effort to provide accurate and timely information to TRBOC members and local and visiting bird watchers about TRBOC and the Townsville region's birds and their habitat. It also provides details for those seeking general information about bird watching.

Townsville is situated on the coast in tropical north Queensland, Australia roughly 400 kilometres south of Cairns  and 1350 kilometres north of Brisbane.

The region is home to about 400 of Australia's 760+ species of birds. With that many species to be found, the region is a bird watchers' mecca. Some of the birds are quite rare and shy while some are endangered but many are quite easily found providing you know where to look.

Hopefully this site will assist you in your bird watching activities in the Townsville Region.
